5 Ways to Drive Traffic For Online Business Success

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

How do I increase traffic to my web site? That is the perennial questions in the mind of all web masters and Internet marketers. If you scan any webmaster’s forum, there are hundreds of questions all related to increasing traffic because traffic is the bloodline of a website. Without traffic, your website is dead; lost in the Internet black hole.

If you are thinking about starting link exchanges as a first step for increasing traffic than you are dead wrong. If you plan to plaster your URL in all the forums and social media sites you encounter, than you are in the wrong track. There is a wrong way and there is a way that leads to the success. Choose the road to success by following the methods described in this article.

1. Create useful websites. Start with a website that provides value to its visitor. It does not matter if you are selling a product or giving information for free, it should be some thing that others desire. Once you have a site, create useful information, how to guides, and easy tools that benefit your site visitors.

2. Write articles. Writing articles and submitting to article directories exposes your site links to others and establishes you as an authority in your topic. The key to successful article writing is quality. After you finish writing your article, ask yourself if you would read the same article if a newspaper or magazine prints it. If you are not going to read your own article, why do you think others will spend their time on your writings?

3. Use forums. You site must have at least a forum. Forum is an excellent way to receive feedback from your visitors and customers. This helps you improve your offerings by using the voice of the customers.

Make it a routine to visit at least one forum related to general online marketing or your niche everyday. You should create your site link in the forum signature. Reply to a few threads with some insights and thoughts. Also, once a week start your own thread by asking thought provoking questions, writing a good how-to article, or sharing valuable information with others. Never try to sell any thing in these forums.

4. Blog regularly. Besides a forum, you should also start a blog where you can write about your thoughts and insights on the topic related to your site. You don’t have to post every day. But make it a regular habit of posting one article a week.

Subscribe to blogs related to your niche and read them everyday. Share your thoughts and link to other blogs as references in your post. With out links, a blog is useless. Once you start sharing links of other blogs in your writings, others will start referring your blogs in their posts. Also take the challenge of writing guest posts in other blogs in the same niche as yours. This is an instant quality backlink to your site.

5. Participate in social media. Social media is the latest web traffic magnet. Encourage your readers to submit your posts to digg and stumbleupon by providing some means to easily submit your stories. You should also regularly submit relevant articles and sites that you think will benefit others. Create a Facebook group related to your niche and also join a few groups in facebook that are relevant to your site. Participate and share useful information in these groups. Sign up with twitter and ask your visitors to follow you on twitter. Using twitter, inform your followers about the latest sales announcements, site maintenance schedules, etc.

Creating web sites that are useful to others and using article marketing, forums, blogs and social media will lead to sustainable web traffic.

Will a Blog Draw Free Web Traffic? Check Out These 5 Simple Reasons

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

Would you use a Blog to accumulate Free Web Traffic? Yes, without a doubt. And there are 5 very simple reasons that emphasize why I make that statement.

1. Blogging is free.

2. Blogging is simple.

3. Blogging is authentic.

4. Blogging builds credibility.

5. Blogging builds your market.

Blogging embodies an idea begun in the late 90’s. It initially was devised as a method to remark on an existent web page., an casual opportunity for visitors and readers to respond or vocalize one’s thought on that page. What began as a single-sentence comment has developed into pages of a personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun. As it carries on its movement forward, on line advertising will continue to tap into the blog’s electric potential, thus enabling the creation of Free Web Traffic.

Making your blog popular is a lot like driving traffic to a website. You can use many of the same techniques to drive traffic to your blog. Finding places to link back to your blog is a good way to draw traffic. Social sites such as MySpace, Facebook, and You tube provide lots of opportunities for this. You can also use social book marking sites such as Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Digg to promote your blog. Blogging on a popular blog site such as Wordpress and Blogger are also good ways to make your blog more popular as these blogging sites help to bring in traffic for your blog.

Finally, one of the simplest ways a blog owner can help to drive traffic to his blog is by regularly updating the blog and keeping it interesting. This is important because a blog which is interesting is much more likely to not only maintain blog traffic but also generate new traffic. This is because readers who are interested in the posts on the blog are not only likely to keep coming back to the blog but are also likely to recommend the blog to other members of the target audience. This type of word of mouth advertising can be very beneficial because those who have an interest in the content of a particular blog also typically have friends who would also be interested in the blog. Once one blog owner recommends a blog to one or more friends, these new blog visitors are also likely to recommend the blog to others if they find it to be interesting, useful or otherwise worthwhile.

5 Intermediate Tips For SEO and Your Website

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

When creating content for your website and taking Search Engine Optimization (SEO) into consideration, there are some additional items to consider to help get your page positioned well in search results. Good content, keyword rich page titles and meta descriptions are important, but these other tips will help as well.

Anchor Text

Keywords placed in the anchor text of links on a web page are given a higher priority by most search engines. Anchor text links should be used whenever possible for boosting organic results of that web page.

Other web sites that link to your web site with your keywords in the anchor text on their web pages… is also very effective strategy for boosting a web page’s organic ranking.

Images / ALT tags

While there is no direct evidence that search engines are continuing to use this, or planning to do it again, it is however recommended to put 2-6 descriptive keywords on the image. There are a few reasons to use the ALT tag on images, even though originally its use was abused by individual that would ’stuff’ 1×1 pixel images with dozens or hundreds of keywords. In any event, it is good ADA and Section 508 Compliance to put descriptions on your images.

1. Content becomes visible when a mouse passes over the image.

2. Content appears whenever the image fails to load.

3. The latest HTML specs require that images have an Alt tag (ADA and Section 508 Compliance)

Robots.txt File

Create a robots.txt file to prevent access to certain folders on your web site by some or all of the search engine spiders (or bots). There is no valid reason that I can think of as to why your cgi-bin folder needs to be indexed. There are many web sites available to educate people on the creation of a valid robots.txt file,

Sitemap.xml

Another very useful method to make search engines aware of your web site and content is to create a sitemap.xml file and submit it to the major search engines. Google Sitemaps is once place to submit your sitemap, as well as Yahoo and Microsoft Live. All now accept and use the same format. The tags in a sitemap XML file all have a purpose and you can change the frequency and priority to your needs.

Directory Structure

Another method to improve search engine optimization for a web site is the directory structure, or ‘file pathing’. Simply stated, create a keyword rich directory path that contains your web page.

For example, instead of:

http://www.somewebsite.com/insurance/auto.html

A better directory structure and file naming convention (see above) would be:

http://www.somewebsite.com/insurance/auto_insurance/free_quote.html

Formatting your directory structure in this manner gets your keyword appearing multiple times.

These intermediate SEO techniques will help you achieve better positioning for your web pages in the organic search results. For the next SEO steps make sure you followed the basic 5 Beginner techniques as well as the 5 Advanced techniques which you can implement. Lastly, stay away from the 5 SEO Abuses that can get your site penalized or even banned from the search engines.

A Guide To Successful Pay Per Click Marketing

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

Pay per click, as the term itself suggests, is a form of advertising that makes use of keywords for popularizing your business on the web. To make a success of your pay per click marketing you need to find the keywords that will best describe about your business. Pay per click marketing is used these days on a large scale, as this is the best way to reach out to online visitors. A study found out that more than seventy five percent of online visitors could be reached through pay per click marketing.

Yes, pay per click marketing is the best source to attract the attention of online visitors, but you must also realize that you need to know all you can before you actually start the process for your business. Nothing can be more frustrating then being caught in a situation where you are not aware of what you are doing and what is happening to your business. So make sure that you know in detail all the nitty gritty about pay per click marketing before using pay per click marketing for your business.

Finding out and identifying the proper keywords is the first task for undertaking pay per click marketing. What you need to do is find out what words will be used by online visitors for searching information or the products that are being sold through your business. There are various tools that can be used for finding out the correct and appropriate keywords for any particular business. Overture, word tracker and digital point are some of the tools that are capable of finding out appropriate keyword for any site in the web.

Sit and plan out carefully what amount of money you are willing to spend on your pay per click marketing campaign. For pay per click marketing, you will have to bid a certain sum of money on keywords that describe your business. Those particular keywords will be used for advertising your goods in major search engines. Whenever a visitor clicks on your site a pre determined amount will be reduced from your bid amount. It is inevitable that you will get many visitors who will click on your site just because your site happens to be listed at the top of sponsored finds in search engines. This cannot be avoided.

There is very little time to grab the attention of visitors. What you can do to grab visitor attention is to making very compelling landing pages. It is very possible that people will not buy goods from you for the first time they visit, but design the page in such a way that at least the visitor leaves behind his email address so that you can contact them in future and tell them about your products. Your landing page must appeal emotionally to the visitor. If you manage to gather the email address you can create a strong database and send out emails through auto responder.

Competition is something that is inevitable and you cannot avoid this in any field. So any marketing strategy including your pay per click marketing strategy must be made and implemented in such a way that you always stay miles ahead of them. Being successful in business is all about beating the competition and no matter how tough the competition, you will have to beat this at all cost.

Keyword Strategies That Make Money

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

Anyone who has published a website knows that a major component of ongoing SEO is generating effective, relevant keywords that relate to on page content and the produce high enough rankings in the Search Engines to generate targeted traffic. Like many website designers/publishers, I use a variety of commonly known keyword research, keyword suggestion, keyword analysis, keyword placement, and keyword extraction tools to generate keywords that will ultimately get me a page #1 placement on Google and ultimately Yahoo and MSN.

What I’ve found is that although many of these tools perform similar tasks, they often measure different metrics and are designed to accomplish different aspects of the keyword generation process.

Unfortunately, new internet marketers (I’m writing this article particularly for them) don’t understand this and jump from one keyword tool to another thinking that the next greatest tool will be the answer to their keyword generation challenges.

Here’s the truth. Keyword generation, like any other aspect of SEO is a process that takes considerable thought, concentration and effort. With that comes a learning curve that can only be surmounted through time and effort through practice.

There is not magic wand or keyword suggestion tool that will do the work for you. Thinking otherwise is a falsehood and will only set you up for disappointment.

So what is the difference between these tools and how can you get the most out of them?

Let’s examine some of the commonly available online keyword research tools…

Compete.com

Compete.com is a relatively new player in the field of competitive keyword research. It is designed to provide the user with a look at where your competition is generating search engine traffic on both PPC (Pay-Per-Click) and organic searches.

Compete.com will also provide you with information on user interaction with your web site. Compete does not gather data directly from the search engines, but instead gathers information directly from actual Internet users who have installed the Compete.com toolbar.

What this means is that Compete collects first hand data from users that can provide you with significant information about how users behave on the sites they visit as well as how users search.

Information such as time spent on a site, what percentage of site’s traffic comes from an individual keyword and a relative measure of how much each keyword is worth to the competitors site.

Access to Compete.com requires creating an account. The free keyword tool is limited. To really make it work to your advantage requires subscribing to the full package. Subscriptions start at $199 per month which puts it out of the range of most New Internet Marketers, Newbies.

KeyCompete

One of the most effective methods for generating keywords is to evaluate what keywords your competition is bidding for on major PPC search engines like Google AdWords and Yahoo Search Engine Marketing.

Like Compete.com, KeyCompete charges monthly/annual fees for their service - under $500.

KeyCompete should be used as a primary keyword generation method. You can also use it like other keyword generation tools to search for variations of keywords. KeyCompete offers a supplement keyword generation tool for Long-Tail keywords. All in all, using this service can save you a lot of time and money in your overall keyword generation efforts, if you can afford the $500 bucks.

SEODigger

SEO Digger is a keyword analysis tool that will tell you where your competitors rank on the search engines for keywords you want to rank for. You can also use the tool to find out how well you rank versus your competition as well as to determine popularity and a rough estimate of search volume each individual keyword receives.

SEO Digger offers a free tool that you can use to determine the top keywords that your competitors rank for organically on both Google and MSN. Non-registered users can search up to five domains per hour. There are other benefits available to registered users.

I’ve found SEO Digger to be one of the most effective keyword analysis tools available and for the average web site owner it’s ideal because it’s best features can be utilized for FREE.

WordTracker

Wordtracker has both a free and fee based service.

It will provide you with a list of related keywords and the estimated search volume for each keyword. Wordtracker collects search volume data from two search engines dogpile.com and metacrawler.com which together account for about 3.5 million searches per day. Results are pretty reliable.

The free version is limited to 100 results per search. The paid version gives you access to thousands of keywords. With the paid version, you can also import lists of keywords and check their search volume instead of entering them one at a time as is the case with the free version.

Also, with the paid version, you can save your keyword projects for future access.

Google Keyword Suggestion Tool

Google AdWords Keyword Suggestion Tool is a free tool offered by Google that generates keywords based on the user entering descriptive words or phrases, or a Web site URL. It will also provide you with a measure of advertiser competition, which is a reference to the amount of advertisers bidding on each term within the Google AdWords Program. This is important to note, because it’s relative to Google AdWords Program and not the entire Internet. Also, keep in mind that Google is the underlying Search Engine for several ISP’s, i.e. AOL, Won, Netscape as Yahoo provides the Search Engine behind, All The Web, Lycos and Altavista.

Google Keyword Suggestion Tool also shows trends in keyword searches and negative keywords which are essential when putting together a PPC campaign.

You also have the option to save your keyword generation results in various formats including .txt, .csv or pre-formatted Excel .csv. The Google AdWords Keyword Suggestion tool is available to AdWords users and can be accessed externally if you do not have a Google AdWords Account.

KeywordDiscovery

Fee-based, Keyword Discovery can be used to generate a large list of short-tail and long-tail keywords for any topic you choose. Keyword Discovery uses 4 major databases to generate keywords: The Global Premium Database, The Historical Global Database, The Shopping Database and The eBay Database.

As a keyword research tool it’s quite powerful. Visit their website for more detailed information on their database services and fees.

Other popular competitive keywords generation research tools

Hitwise.com, GoogSpy.com and SpyFu.com.

I’ve used SpyFu extensively. It combines many of the features of those keyword research tools aforementioned and it’s FREE.

Regardless of your level of experience with website design or online internet marketing, you need to clearly understand that there are keyword research and keyword analysis tools to meet every need and every budget, but regardless to the cost generating keywords that can be easily found by your customers or visitors is an ongoing and often labor intensive process. The tools available are just that.

Most of us have used a hammer or a screwdriver at one point of another, but that doesn’t make us a carpenter or a mechanic. However, the more often you use the keyword research tools, the more familiar you will become with what they can do and how they can profit you in your SEO or Internet Marketing Efforts.

SEO The Old School Way

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

There’s been a lot of changes in search engine optimization at least over the past 9 years that I’ve been doing it. Back in 1999 keyword stuffing was considered, if not white hat, then a reasonably grayish-white way to get a web page to the top of the rankings. Back then, you would come across many websites where the tops of the pages (above the fold as they say) were for the visitors of the site and keywords stuffed at the bottom of the page were for the search engines.

But, over time a consensus among webmasters, SEOs and the search engines emerged that this method was not preferable. What developed as preferable over time was writing complete sentences for the visitors of the website without any regard to the search engines. But, for a while the search engines lagged in rewarding this behavior ahead of the keyword stuffing behavior.

It was only after this reward system took hold, and the ranking algorithms became savvy to this trick and delivered a consistent reward-punishment system to shall we say, good pages versus bad pages, that webmasters and SEOs had a playbook in which to follow. Of course, many years ago, much of this was unspoken.

There was no Matt Cutts from Google or Google Guy giving SEOs hints here and there of what behaviors were considered white hat, black hat, gray hat or snow cone hat. Before the days of Matt Cutts, SEOs had to guess and talk to each other on message boards to compare, confabulate and surmise what was going on with the latest algorithm change or anomaly (of course this still goes on today).

But, just as the search engine algorithms evolved so have the black hat SEOs who have kept one step ahead of the search engines (or tried to) and have become even more sophisticated at gaming the system. Cloaking, sophisticated redirects for siphoning Page Rank (PR) or cheating link partners have abounded.

An entire industry has evolved around buying and selling text links for the purposes of passing PR from one site to the next. The buyers want to buy enough PR to get their websites up in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) and those doing the selling are happy to make a profit doing just that.

But, even throughout all the efforts to game the search engines, old school SEO hasn’t changed that much over time. The basics of keyword research, on-page optimization, link-building and tracking results, which is the core of SEO has stayed the core.

Sure, there are new wrinkles as to exactly how to do this core of white hat search engine optimization. Within the past couple of years, blogs and social media have both come on strong and evolved. Old school SEOs have had to be flexible and adapt to new market conditions and even embrace the new online media.

But, when one gets lost in the new and shiny techniques (which is easy to do) it is important to pull back a while, gain some perspective and realize that old school SEO will still get a website where it needs to be. And, as trust is important in any business relationship, clients can rest assured that their white hat won’t get their website dumped at the drop of a hat for using black hat techniques that the search engines have caught wind of and penalized.

Old school SEO still rocks and there is no reason to believe that this will change anytime soon.

Unleashed - Free Affiliate Marketing System That Fills Your Bank Account to the Brim With Cash

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

Do you want to start an affiliate marketing business but do not have tons of money or time to spend? Then you need a simple system that will get you into the profit zone in double quick time.

The following system is the system that many have used to create a nice side income from affiliate marketing. Once you have seen some success using this method, you can branch out a bit and expand your marketing campaigns to include paid advertising methods such as pay per click advertising, press releases and banner advertising. You can also add other free methods like classified ads and social networking.

For now, let’s get into this strategy that uses two of the most effective free marketing strategies online to get you into profit quickly!

Here is a simple affiliate marketing system you can get started with for free:

1. Pick a product on Clickbank to promote. Find a category, pick out a top 10 product that pays well, and look through the sales letter. Is the sales letter brimming with quality? Generate your affiliate link - it takes no more than a few seconds!

2. Use two main marketing methods to advertise your affiliate link - article marketing and forums. Both of these are free to do and have the potential to bring in dozens of visitors every day to your site. The only article marketing directory that you must submit to is EzineArticles. Other alternatives can be considered but EzineArticles is a must. Then find forums that have high traffic numbers in your market. You can easily do a search for this on Google or Yahoo. Find 3 to 5 forums, create a signature file promoting your affiliate link and post in them regularly each and every day.

Let’s do the math. If your product converts at 3% (that’s 3 sales for every 100 visitors) and you earn a commission of say $20 for each sale, you can easily make $20-$40 per day with this side business if you use articles and forums to get 50 visitors a day, which is certainly very achievable!

Expired Real Estate Listings - Buyers and Investors Have Access to Them, Too

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

Expired Real Estate Listings have been the near exclusive domain of real estate agents for as long as I can remember. Top producing agents know that expireds don’t require a lot of effort to get, yet yield a high return on their time and money invested in marketing them. And all you have to do to find them is log into your MLS system, enter the dates that you’re interested in and presto - there they are.

But the days of exclusivity may be drawing to a close, as buyers and investors are competing for those same expireds. They too are starting to realize that expireds offer special opportunities for them as well, but instead of listings they get to bid on properties that are all of a sudden off the market and may be reduced by at least the cost of the real estate listing fee, which is no longer in effect because it expired, too.

But buyers and sellers are at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to expired listings- they don’t have easy access to the MLS system. They can’t just log into the MLS system - they don’t have access to it.

Instead, they have to be a little more innovative. Some sign Buyer Broker Agreements, whereby they hire and pay agents to help them buy real estate. And since the agents will get paid by the buyer they can then expand the properties shown to their prospective buyers to include expired real estate listings, fsbos and even properties that are actively listed in MLS systems.

Suddenly, buying options for buyers and investors expand threefold. Agents are now free to show them almost any property on the market and the Buyer Broker contract ensures that they’ll get paid.

The concept is a little unorthodox, and is not utilized by many, but those that do know about it are finding that there are more buying options than they would otherwise have.

My first Buyer Broker experience was as an agent and it was a wonderful experience. At the time I was struggling to pay gas to usher clients around town to look at houses, only to have them walk away without buying anything, or go on to another agent and buy something.

And what was so good about it is that I got a pretty sizeable non-refundable retainer fee, so if they had walked away I would have felt adequately compensated for the time spent with them. But I didn’t have to worry about that because they ended up buying a home and I got a full fee for my services.

So, listen up buyers and investors. If you’re looking for a great deal you might want to seriously retaining an agent to search expired real estate listings for you, which can in some instances be as good as buying foreclosures. Sellers are pretty motivated to get their properties sold and are likely to be very happy to work with your agent to negotiate a sale.

And for you agents out there, a Buyer Broker contract to find expireds can open up a new channel of possibilities. So, what are you waiting on?

How To Get Many More Clicks From The Articles You Submit To Article Directories

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

In this article, I am going to give you one of my greatest secrets in my article marketing. This is one of the most effective things that I do, and some people don’t like it. They don’t think its fair - but I do, and I think that it is even fairer to the reader than doing it the other way - because you should be in the job of really helping people in your niche - and if they don’t click through - you can’t really help them.

So you are not being fair if you aren’t getting people to click through to your site so they can learn more from you, and actually solve their problems, rather than just getting the band aid your article offers.

Writing so many articles, I can just kind of feel when I’m at two hundred words, I need to do mine, and then I need to end it or whatever. Another thing that I do, and I’ll give you a formula here in a split second. But another thing that I do is when I hit three hundred and seventy five words or so I just cut the article off. I don’t finish the article. So if I haven’t finished everything I wanted to say, I just immediately give the call to action and here’s what happens. I think it actually works better if I do it like that because what happens is when somebody is reading through they don’t get all the information that they need. And in order to get all the information they have to literally click through and download whatever it is from you. Because the whole idea is the e-book, the free e-book, you’re giving away should finishing answering a particular question for them. And so by not finishing the article; I’m saying you want to go into the articles always feeling like I’m not going to give them all the information, but don’t be afraid to just cut it off and give them a call to action. I mean I literally, wherever it is, if I get to three hundred and seventy five or three hundred words, I just hit period. I mean I end the sentence literally and I say, hey, do you want to know more about this? Click here and download my e-book. And it forces people to get into my site. That’s the most effective thing that I can do.

Do you want to learn more about how I do it? I have just completed my brand new guide to article marketing success, ‘Your Article Writing and Promotion Guide’

How Long Does it Take to Get PageRank?

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

One of the questions I’m asked almost daily by my readers is how long does it take for Google to assign PageRank. If you’ve ever wondered the same thing, here’s the answer to that question:

It usually takes at least three full months for all of your inbound links to be calculated and counted as backlinks. Google’s PageRank is calculated based on the relevancy, quantity and quality of your inbound links, as well as the number of outbound links there are on your website. Generally speaking, the fewer outbound links a website has the better.

Conversely, the higher the PR of your inbound links, the more PR is assigned to your website. For example, a website with a very respectable Google PR of 5 or 6, but with many outbound links, might be assigned much less PR than a PR3 site with only a couple of outbound links. You can track your PageRank by downloading Google’s toolbar, or by using one of the numerous sites that will allow you to check your PR. One such site is http://www.pagerankchecker.biz

Google assigns PR on a case by case basis, and there are simply too many variables to estimate what your particular PR will be. So you just have to be patient and wait and see what Google decides to do. Let me further elaborate:

Google’s PR is an algorithm used by Google to assign scores to websites based on the number and quality of other websites that link to it. The purpose of PR is to give an indication of the relative importance of a particular site. Generally speaking, sites with a higher PR will appear in the search results ahead of those sites with lower page ranks. Therefore, a high PR is very important and desireable.

The scores assigned (or at least the scores which are made visible to those outside of Google) are in the 0 to 10 range, where 0 is very bad and 10 is exceptionally good. For example, a PR of 4 is considered good and is achievable for most sites. A PR of 5 or 6 is extremely hard to achieve, but possible. And a PR of 7-10 is generally achieved only by sites that are household names.

So can you increase your PR? Absolutely, but it takes time. The key is continually adding as many relevant, quality inbound links from respected websites as you possibly can. That’s really all that you can do. The rest is up to Google.

By the way, I should point out the numbers I’m using are not a scientifically conclusive by any means. The information I’m sharing with you is based on my own personal experience. Your mileage may vary.
