Know Your Limits in Group Classes

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

On Friday I attended an Ashtanga yoga class. It was a level 1 class. Even still, students of all levels, including (the very) advanced participate to brush up on their skills and impress the newbies.

When you practice yoga, the first thing you might notice is how quickly your muscles loosen up. Before the class, you could not even touch your toes. By the end it’s possible to fold yourself in to a pretzel, while balancing on your head. With the advanced students doing their thing, it’s pretty easy to become ultra ambitious and want to try everything.

After my first class I could not move for a week. The muscle soreness was intense! Not in a good way either. The thing is, my muscles were warmed up from the class. They were not magically flexible. Forcing myself in to postures my body was not conditioned for, to “keep up” with the class was a big mistake.

This time around I went at my own pace. I’m only really sore in my hamstrings from the downward dog. Every other muscle feels worked but not insanely stiff and painful. “Good hurt!”

I’m writing about these experiences because I know anybody that has attended a fitness class has felt the same way. Group classes are meant to motivate and push you. It’s up to the individual to decide their limits and pace themselves. An instructor won’t be able to tell if you are pulling every muscle in your body or you are bending your injured shoulder the wrong way.

I’ve known people that have fainted, thrown up and have been hurt pretty badly in classes because they were too embarrassed to slow down or tell the instructor their limitations. Just remember it is a class for your benefit. Do what’s right for you.

Pace Yourself In Classes!

Internal Alarm Clock a time management tool?

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

Some of us are blessed with an internal alarm clock. A little voice that wakes you up two minutes before your alarm goes off. This may be a blessing if that little voice also alerts you ten minutes before your son’s soccer game or before the school bell rings. However I don’t have that blessing.

Of course I have the internal ability to wake up 30 minutes BEFORE I have to wake up after only five hours of sleep. Unfortunately that alarm doesn’t seem to carry over into the waking hours. A thirty minute heads up would be handy.

Not having that constant heads up, instead, I wear the super mom cape as I leap over shoes, bags and the cat in a flurry of movement. Knowing full well that the school bell is going to ring in ten minutes and the drive is a minimum of 11 minutes and three seconds if no one is in the cross walk and that light isn’t red. Of course, I will have to drive laps to locate a place I can stop to let my son in. All the parking spots are taken by those nannies with an internal clock.

I thought I had the alarm clock before I had children. As a professional Nanny I was never late for a soccer game, a music lesson, or birthday party. It turns out there are two types of internal alarm clocks. The one reserved for those of us who don’t have children under the age of 18. This one allows you to roll out of bed just before your alarm goes off after a night of 8 hours of restful sleep.

Then there’s the other alarm clock. The one called the mom alarm clock. This internal alarm wakes you up at three minutes before the baby needs to be fed, or two minutes before your toddler wets the bed, or 8 minutes before your five year old wakes up with growing pains. Sometimes these alarms are all in the same night. The mom alarm clock results in a pure hatred of the real alarm clock that wakes you up at 7 am as the children are peacefully sleeping telling you to start your day.

Luckily I have some other time management tips under my cape to keep me on time and organized as a mother. Despite the internal mom alarm clock working against me at night, my children make it to their soccer games and birthday parties, usually with the present and cleats in the bag. Was that the blue bag or the red one?

Poker Is More Than Just A Game

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

Most of the women I know think that poker is some game that unsavoury men play in the back rooms of sleazy bars. They wouldn’t even think of playing the game, never mind thinking that they might love poker. Most of the men I know think poker is just a game played by guys with nothing better to do.

But I know better: I am a 38 year old mother of 2, and I’ve been paying poker for about 30 years; and I know what poker is all about, and how falling in love can even happen to a married woman lol.

I’ve always loved playing poker, but it’s when I learned that I could play poker online whenever I wanted that was when I truly fell in love with it. Before I learned about playing poker on the internet I had to wait until I got the chance to play with some of my friends husbands; which wasn’t very often. Now that I have learned about poker online I can play a game of poker whenever I want: poker on demand - it’s like heaven!

Now I can play poker whenever I want; which is usually the minute I get the kids to bed. When I first heard about playing poker online I wasn’t sure where to start; where to play, and where to stay away from. I found a poker room that I started playing in, but it wasn’t the greatest - I wasn’t enjoying the feel of it. I needed to find out about some better places to play, but I didn’t know where to look to find out the information I needed. Then a friend told me about Poker Online UK. Poker Online UK is a poker review site that rates poker rooms and gives a description of each site, and the reasons why the poker sites have been given the rating they have. After I found Poker Online UK I was sorted: I new where to play and where to stay away from.

Since then I’ve learned a lot about online poker: about where I should play, and the difference between the online and offline version of the wonderful game. I’ve learned the intricacies off online poker, and how to see tells in players you can’t see. I’ve also learned the best places to explore online. I found about another poker review site Poker Websites. This site is similar to Poker Online UK, but in a different style. Poker Websites has a number that has been mathematically calculated to rank all of the top poker websites.

I’ve been playing the magnificent game online for almost a year now. I’ve learned a lot about online poker, and where to find out the best information about the game. The last time I was on the Poker Websites site I found out about the new site Poker News that’s associated with Poker Websites. Poker News is a new website dedicated to providing online poker players with the best poker news that they want to know about.

I’m a happy woman - I love my family, and I love my husband; but I also love playing the wonderful game in my free time.

It’s more than just - poker is a passion - I love poker!!

Jack Mack is a keen UK poker player dedicated in spreading poker fever to help game players gain the passion that he has for the beautiful game of poker.

Dog Day Care

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

Dog day care is growing in popularity. It started in California in 1987 and has been spreading across the country every since. Dog day care centers are all over now. Great way for your dog to spend the day, getting exercise, interaction with other dogs and people. Find out more about dog day care!

I must admit it’s not something I was aware of. Of course, I know about kennels - a place to take your dog if you just can’t take him with you on a trip but not dog day care. Isn’t it child day care? Anyway, one day when I was talking with my son he mentioned he was taking his dog to dog day care the next day. What’s that? Anyway he said he dog loved going there and he even had a dog friend. Well, I had to look into this and so here is what I came up with.

Dog day care is much like day care for children. You drop your dog off in the mornings and pick him up after work. Your dog gets to socialize with other dogs, gets outdoor exercise, have activities, play games like fetch. They even have nap time! They have tug toys, balls and toys to climb on. Some places have couches, chairs and even bean bags for them. They even can attend an obedience class.

These centers are generally in a large open space like a renovated warehouse. They have an area for large dogs and one for small dogs. They will also have a large outdoor area.

Some centers have cameras going that you can get on the internet and see what your dog is doing. Do child care centers have that?

These dog day care centers are great for people who feel guilty about spending so much time away from their dogs. They offer dog owners options giving their dog a day of play rather than boredom and loneliness at home. They get to interact with other dogs, get exercise and have fun.

You know some dogs get so lonely and bored at home alone they get into mischief like chewing on shoes, furniture and whatever they can find. Some dogs suffer from separation anxiety so this would be a great way to help them by giving them dogs to play with and people around.

Check out these factors when choosing a dog day care center.

Are the employees trained?
Some have been trained in dog behavior, first aid and obedience training.

Is the facility clean?
Is there an area specifically for the dogs to potty? How does the center smell?

Is the facility overcrowded?

Is the staff to dog ratio good?
One staff member to every 10-15 dogs is optimun.

Does it look like the staff enjoys the dogs?

Is there a security fence around the outdoor areas?
Are they high enough to prevent dogs from jumping over?

Midday meals?

Do they give medications?

To get in a center your dog needs:

Current vaccinations.

Flea prevention

Sprayed/neutered

Dog must get along with other dogs.

Some centers have other services like overnight boarding, dog training and grooming facilities. Some will even pick your dog up and home and return him at night.

I found cost from $15.00 a day to $35.00 a day plus weekly rates so shop around.

These dog day care centers do provide a safe and healthy atmosphere with lots of interaction with people and other dogs.

The Key To House Training A Puppy

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

No Dog training means more to most new puppy owners than that first important lesson: Not in the House!

Teaching your Dog to go to the toilet outside the home, not in it, usually starts between six and eight weeks of age. Dogs as young as four weeks old, have been started on the house training, but at such a young age, a puppy is unlikely to have enough muscle control.

Like any dog training, the trainer’s patience is as important as the dog’s temperament. ‘Sit’, ’stay’ and other behaviours can often be learned in a few days. ‘Potty’ training can take weeks - sometimes as short as two, often a month or more.

As with other learned behaviours, you should look for signs of the impending action, then enforce and direct them with a voice command followed by praise. In this case the technique works to the trainer’s advantage, since all dogs will naturally go to the toilet. The trick is to get them to do it when and where you want!

Look for signs such as circling or squatting, then pick up the pup, say ‘outside’ and hurry outside. The puppy may circle some more, but will often squat immediately. As it begins, say “quickly” (or some other phrase) in a clear, firm (but not angry) voice. Wait until the puppy finished and give lots of praise.

You won’t always be able to catch the puppy about to begin, but don’t become angry or impatient when the dog goes to the toilet indoors. It takes time for the dog to learn to tell you it’s time to ‘go outside’. It also takes time for the muscles needed to control bladder and bowels to develop.

Young dogs need to go to the toilet every 2-3 hours, on average. If you haven’t spotted evacuation behaviour within that time, take the dog outside anyway. Issue the command ‘quickly” and wait. At first, usually, the dog will have no clue what you want.

Again, even when outside, it helps to wait and watch for the desired behaviour then issue the command. That helps the dog associate the command with the behaviour. If the dog hasn’t gone after a few minutes and a few ‘quickly’ commands, take it back inside for an hour. Of course, if you spot the pre-toilet behaviour in less time, go outside again immediately.

Dogs have a surprising ability to quickly learn what their ‘alpha’ (the leader of the pack) wants. This is almost always accomplished by associating a verbal command with behaviour, followed by praise. Punishment is usually counter-productive, and nowhere more so than in toilet training. Never rub a dog’s nose in waste.

Paper and/or crate training is preferred by some. A pup can be trained to go on a newspaper, or on one of the chemically treated puppy pads designed for the purpose. Some small breeds that live all day in the home may not need to go outside at all.

The technique has a couple of down sides however. Unlike cats, dogs will rarely go in a perfumed litter box. Newspapers (even with the top layer removed after the dog goes) will eventually create an unpleasant smell in the house.

Also, long before the odour becomes unattractive to humans, dogs can smell their own distinctive aroma. They don’t find it unattractive - quite the opposite. And that’s the problem.

Dogs that are paper trained will often prefer to eliminate indoors. Sometimes they’ll miss the paper by only an inch, creating a mess to clean up.

Once the odour is in the carpet, the dog will often seek that spot out as its proper ‘place to go’. This makes training the dog to go to the toilet outside even more difficult. Best to suffer a few accidents than to create a hard-to-overcome habit.

Patience, praise and consistency are the keys to any dog training. Elimination training is the first test for you and your dog.

Bike Gear: How Much To Spend

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

To lots of people, money is know object and they can afford to pay for the top-of-the-line gear they want. Other people need to be more cost conscience and look for bargains.

There are as many brand-new bikes sitting unused in people’s garages as there are in bike stores.

Well, that is perhaps an exaggeration, but it’s certainly true that a great many people who take up a new hobby have a tendency to lose interest after a week or a month. Either they find they don’t have time for it or they find they just don’t enjoy it. But, when they first started out they were full of enthusiasm so they bought all sorts of expensive gear that they now no longer use.

So they sell it - at garage sales, on Ebay, or in those special newspapers designed for the purpose of selling unwanted material.

The careful buyer can pick up quite a few bargains this way.

Used Bikes and Bike Gear

If you’re buying from a garage sale, you’ll be able to test out the bike or the gear and make sure that it works properly. You don’t have that luxury with Ebay, but the seller has various ratings boxes you can check to make sure they’re legitimate.

How else can you save money while putting together your own biking ensemble?

Shopping Online

Well, although I hate to say it, the best thing to do is shop online. Online stores have more inventory than do most brick-and-mortar stores, and they are able to sell the equipment at such a discount that even after paying for shipping, you still save money.

The drawback here is that you want to ensure that you’re dealing with a reputable store - if you send money to a fly-by-night outfit you might live to regret it.

Seats (or saddles - whatever terminology you use!), handlebar stems, brakes, and tires can all make a big difference in the quality of your bike ride. If you’re looking to upgrade your ride, by all means do some comparison shopping. Check out the prices in your local bike store, and then check online.

If at all possible, of course, you should support your local bike store, just because they employ knowledgeable people who will be there when you need them. But if you find an item at a bargain price online, it would be foolish not to take advantage of it.

Local Bike Shop

It’s always a good idea to have a good relationship with your local bike shop. Always assuming that the people who work there know their business. But if that’s the case - you can get a lot of good information from t hem, and you’ll be able to learn of any upcoming sales where you’ll be able to pick up any bargains.

Make Easy Money Fast By Placing Ads

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

You can make easy money fast by placing ads . Whether you are promoting a new business opportunity or a new product, placing ads offline and online can greatly help your sales. There are a number of different things that go into placing ads from where you place your ads to your ad content.

First we will go over your ad content. When placing your ads you want an ad title that jumps out to the reader. Go over ads in the newspaper and other places that ads are posted. Read the catchy titles that jump out at you. That will give you a better understanding of what ad titles should look like. Next you want to test out your ad titles, so track every ad you put out there. Once you have your results then use the most effective ad titles in your main ad marketing campaign. Next you should work on the subject for your ads. The subject should not give away to much information, just enough to arouse curiosity.

You can place your ads offline and online they both work effectively. I would suggest using both methods. Placing your ads offline is pretty simple. Most people just post their ads everywhere but in reality you should target where you place your ads. If you are marketing a business opportunity then place your ads where people are, who would be interested in your type of opportunity. The same goes with your product, place your ads in places you would find your target market. Conventions and swap meets are pretty good places to place your ads. Placing your ads online is easier because you can post your ads in more places in less time. When placing your ads only to get sales place your ads everywhere available online. If you wanted to get more links for your website then I would suggest placing your ads in high ranking classified ad sites. Every week you should replace your old ad with a new one if allowed because the older ads tend to get dropped towards the bottom of the ad site.

The more ads you place the easier it will become to make easy money fast by placing ads .

How To Have A Happy Worm-Free Cat or Kitten

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

There are many health related issues to consider regarding the happiness of your cat and the deworming process should be a top priority. In order to effectively deworm your cat you should understand, how often the procedure should be done, the kind of worms that typically infect cats and the ways in which various types of worms can affect you cat’s health. Before exploring theses issues further, here is some background information for you to consider.

Just about all kittens are infected with some kind of parasitic worm at the time of birth, which were transmitted while the kitten was developing inside the mother’s womb. Alternatively worm eggs can be transmitted via the mother’s milk during the nursing stage. Unless the mother is medically confirmed to be worm-free and lives in an immaculate indoor environment, there is a high probability the her kittens will have worms. With that being said, it is important to understand the following conditions as well as the deworming process involved.

All stray kittens will have worms. Don’t assume otherwise. Any stray kitten recovered must be taken to a veterinarian as soon as possible for deworming and other treatments. If your cat is a hunter and catches and consumes small animals such as birds or mice, it is highly likely that your cat will have worms from ingesting worm larvae that commonly exist in these animals.

Indoor cats can also be infected with worms. Chronic heaving and retching behavior is suggestive of a possible worm infestation in your cat. If a cat vomits and the worms are visible, this of course is a clear proof that the cat needs to be dewormed immediately. The most common type or worm to infect cats are Roundworms that look like spaghetti and Tapeworms that are flat and with box shaped sections.

Veterinarian worm testing may not always show a positive result for worms even if they exist. The common fecal test will only show a positive indication of worms if they are active and migrating within the cat. Quite often, worms can exist dormant within the cat’s body for a long time and only manifest themselves in a fecal exam after some sort of stress event like pregnancy or surgery.

Sudden changes in appetite or diarrhea are possible signs of worm infection. Fur that loses its sheen or the developing of a protruding belly are other signs. Cats that are observed eating feces must definitely be put through a deworming process.

Determining the exact type of worm infecting a cat will be critical to successful treatment because medication is specific to the type of worm. For example medication to rid a cat of round worms will not work for tape worms or other types of worms. Generally fecal testing is the best method for determining the type of worm infecting cat.

Worm medications can be in the form of a liquid or a pill and when administering medication to a cat it is vitally important to confirm that the cat actually ingests it. Concealing the medication in cat food or a treat is a simple way to accomplish this. It is also important to understand that it typically takes several deworming treatments to completely rid a cat of worms. This is due to the fact the worms in their various developmental stages will vary in their susceptibility to the medication.

In conclusion, you should subject your cat to a deworming process as warranted by conditions mention earlier. Regular veterinary fecal tests and closely monitoring your cat for symptomatic and behavioral signs of worm infection is the key for determining when and how often your cat should be dewormed.

Install New Money Buttons And Feel Your Way To Financial Freedom

Published by Admin under Uncategorized

What keeps people from being wealthy is negative emotional money buttons. Your ‘money buttons’ are buttons that get pressed when you have certain negative thoughts about money. Negative thoughts produce negative experiences that in turn create more negative thoughts and feelings and therefore more negative results. This thought-feeling-response-thought-feeling pattern gets repeated over and over and wears a deep energy pattern into your psyche. It is like playing the same record or tape over and over again.

If you want a new record or tape to play, one that makes you feel good and produces the results you want (financial freedom), you need to remove the old pattern before you install a new one.

Here’s how to defuse the negative money buttons and install new ones

1. Expose your negative money buttons. Complete the checklist in the article, “Expose your money buttons” that you can read here on my website at http://www.innercompass.com.au/content/view/86/45/

2. Conjure up the thoughts and feelings you typically experience around money. Focus your awareness and attention on where the negative feelings around money turn up in your body. For some this is in the chest, head, or neck. For me, it’s in my stomach. It does not matter where it is, just focus on where it shows up for you.

3. Close your eyes and focus your attention on the part that is most intense. Then just put all your attention on what it feels like in that place. After a few minutes open your eyes and notice the difference. Often the feeling dissipates, expands, releases, or shifts. This means you are scrambling the emotional pattern and releasing the energy that has been stuck there for some time.

4. Repeat this exercise every time you have feelings of discomfort around money.

5. At the same time, you can also supersaturate your environment with new beliefs and ideas around money and wealth creation. Read books, articles, magazines about money and wealth creation. Write out your intentions for building wealth - why do you want to be wildly wealthy? Seek out role models who have created what you want to create and learn everything you can about how they did it. Put up pictures and images of the things you want to create and experience as a result of your wealth. This will keep generating feelings of excitement and enthusiasm.

6. The aim of these exercises is to get you feeling good, really good, about money, wealth, and wealth creation. When you feel good, your intuition will guide you to opportunities that will help create whatever it is you desire.

The more you resonate with feelings of excitement, energy, enthusiasm, gratitude, and pleasure when it comes to money thoughts, then the more you will be able to attract and create for yourself. The beauty of this approach is that you feel good from the outset - you feel good visualising your wealth and then your excitement mounts as you implement your plans. Achieving the end result is just as exciting as visualising it. This means there is joy and delight in the creative process. This is what experiencing true abundance is all about.

This is how you feel your way to financial freedom.
